Well, we're gonna be doing a season two of Ah, Drum Roll, please, Tales from the Loop. Our very first one. So we're going back to the very first game we played. And we've got all the original players. Just great for the finale of Stranger Things.

Yeah, hello. Welcome back. And with uh much better sound than season one. I think all around we have much better sound than season two. Yeah, I went back and listed to season one and I was like, oh gosh, Marco, we really had a tough time.

We're also joined by Tony. Hello, hello, who seems to be with us for everything, it seems. Yeah. He keeps out already. He can't get in out of us. I mean, we try getting rid of him, he just keeps coming back, the sexy Spanish man. And then, of course, we have Pete. Hey Pete. Hi yeah. Another regular, I mean, it's like we're all a bunch of friends having fun. I'm not gonna tell you what happened in season one. You all have to kind of like listen to the episodes and kind of like get on your thing, or you know, start from scratch, and I'm sure you'll pick it up if you've not listened to season one. So, what are we doing? Where are we doing it? How are we doing it? It is Tales from the Loop, as I said, it is from Free League. We've done the first season, want to know about all the rules and stuff, go back to that one. What's really great is we already have established characters, we have a wonderful storyline that we can work on already. So, I guess what I'm gonna quickly do is for those people who haven't listened to season one for a while, just want you to quickly explain who your kids are, just very briefly. So, just name and a little something about them. Two or three lines that you think that you would kind of describe your character as. I'm gonna start with Tony.

Okay, so um I will be playing as Ben Larsson, which the type of kid is a troublemaker. He's very slim, blonde, teen, kind of a kind of a punk guy. So he wears a black leather jacket and broken jeans. He's he likes getting into trouble, and the song that he likes the most is Ramones Plick-Strike Bob. Cool. Thank you very much. Douglas, what about yourself?

Yes, I'm back doing Johannes Dahl, who is the contacts man, I suppose, of the group, and a bit of a would-be business guy, very much money focused. Cheers. Pete, what about yourself? I'm Anders, a hick, a farm kid. Loves tinkering with mechanical stuff since his previous adventures. He's tried wrestling with an adult and found that he got outdone. So since then he's been going to the gym with the ice hockey team and trying to boost his muscles. Thinking that might help. Now you just need to wait for winter to come along. Um his motivation is still to try and earn money because he still thinks that's gonna solve all the problems of the world around him. And last but not least, Marco.

My character's name is Anthony. His father works at the loop. His father is an American and his mom is Swedish, and they've recently moved from Boulder, Colorado, to Sweden because his father's job transferred him to the Swedish loop. And his brother's missing. His brother's been missing for I think a little over a year. Right. And he's a weirdo.

He's a weirdo. We are also, we are not joined by Sol, who would normally be joining us, as in the first season, he's being fashionably late, or at least his character is, and that's Susie. So we'll meet Susie in another episode at some point, but we'll get back to her. So, thank you very much, everyone. It's been six months since your last mystery that you were kind of involved in. Things have happened. There's been a lot of letters out by Rick's Energy and the subholding of the toys that you kind of had to deal with, saying we're really sorry about everything that's happened. Unfortunately, we are not to blame. So everyone's got a lot of corporate letters essentially saying they're sorry but not offering anything really other than some compensation for anyone who accidentally got cybernetically altered, chips in the back of the head, that kind of thing. So if if you had some parents who had that, which I think was it Tony, I think it was yourself that your dad got chipped. Exactly. Yeah. So he's got a letter basically saying, We're really sorry this is what's happened. We'll pay for everything to get it removed, and they got a small amount of compensation to say thank you very much for not complaining. Here's an NDA, please sign this. Um, so that's kind of happened, and in the last six months, it's kind of like it never really happened. Everyone that kind of was involved has got cleared up. The place that it all happened in the um the little delivery area. So we can take you to a warehouse. It was the warehouse. So in Stemhamra, there's this little uh warehouse. Let me just bring you all to this. There was a factory and a warehouse that it was in. That has since been sold. Another company has taken over, it's producing something very different, not the same thing. Everything has kind of like gone back to normal. So that was in the Easter. You had Easter, that kind of came and went. You went back to school, and you you just continued about your your your your your semester. It then became summer. Summer holidays came and went, uh, or has has come and is about to leave. So in two weeks' time, you'll have to go back to school. It's the beginning of September. The summer has been particularly warm, and as kind of it's getting into September, you'd expect it to be quite cool, but it isn't. It's actually quite mild, which has given you guys a lot of time to do stuff.

So at the end of the last episode, Anthony had gone through that portal. Correct. And then he found his brother, and then on the other side of the portal, and then his brother essentially after they had a bit of a conversation, his brother sort of pushed him through it, sent him back. How so and then he so when Anthony came back, he he appeared in his bedroom.

And he had a short scene with his father. So how long was he missing?

He was missing for a couple of days. A couple of days, okay. So it wasn't particularly long. And so, well, we're gonna we'll start with you actually. How has each of your kids dealt with the fallout from what happened last time? If you take for a take it as red that you can't resolve anything from the last ministry, and so for whatever reason, I mean this will be down to you to decide for your individual kids why that is the case, whether the parents don't necessarily believe you, or obviously it's difficult to tell because obviously things obviously did happen, and they had has been sort of dealt with, but for the other bits, like you know, I saw my brother, really did you, da da da da, that kind of thing. How has how has Anthony dealt with that?

So this is something I was thinking about, and and part of this is probably up to you, Ed, because so his father works at the loop, so and I remember I had one of those toys, and I believe I showed it to my father. You did?

Yeah, so there are certain things that he probably knows is true, and maybe he can't speak openly about those things. However, whether or not he knows or believes Anthony when Anthony says he went through a portal and found his brother Joe, and Joe being missing has something to do with the loop, and Joe warned him about something going on, and to get help, to get dad and other people to help. Whether he believes that or not, I don't know. I I I'm not sure how I'm not sure how much information he knows about what's going on at the loop is what I think is what I'm saying. So my guess is they've sent him to therapy.

I like that, right? Yes. Just to kind of get over the trauma of your brother going missing, that kind of thing.

Right, exactly. Because they my you know, my guess is whether or not his father truly believes him, I I'm gonna leave that up to you. But in terms of like certainly the mother, grandmother, you know, they're all like, this kid is troubled, he, you know, you've you've neglected this this issue with him, he needs to see someone. So they're probably sending him to like a counsellor or a therapist or something. So he probably goes like once a week or something like that. He's been doing that all summer.

Well, I'm happy. I think it's safe to say that I think your your dad believes that's what what's happened, but he is not openly saying it. So there's this kind of unspoken sort of thing between you, like a kind of like, oh yeah, kind of wink, nod kind of thing. And your dad said he was gonna look into it and see what he could find. And that's been ongoing. It's probably, I don't know, Anthony's probably what stuff done resolved quickly, you know. You're a kid, right? So why haven't you sorted out? It takes time. Yeah, but but I don't understand. Why haven't you just asked someone? It's been six months, right, exactly. Tony, how did Sven kind of what how's Sven reacted over the last six months from what's happened? Considering what happened to your dad and yourself and how that's kind of impacted you.

Well, I don't know if my dad has any side effects of what happened. I don't think this is something we treated, right? No, we haven't.

So he will remember things, but more like it's a sort of like lucid dream kind of thing, rather than being a hundred percent specific. So he remembers things happening, he remembers doing whatever he did, but it's all a little bit out of context for him, you know. So that's how he kind of treats it.

So I guess as Ben being at the end of the day, a good guy and good in his heart, he's probably you know, perhaps a little bit frustrated because his dad doesn't realize what happened and what was the role of his ven in everything. But he's taking care of his dad. I think his dad was a drinker, wasn't he? Yeah, he was a drinker and small. Yeah, and I guess I'm trying just to keep the house in place and trying to take care of him, you know, whenever he gets mega drunk and when I get back home and he's just laying on the floor. I don't know, and perhaps I just you know put a blanket, which perhaps before I I was not so keen to do because you know he didn't have a justification for it. But now perhaps I'm saying, well, you know, he doesn't know. So perhaps I've been just taking care of him in a in my way and and trying that he eats and that he doesn't get wasted or wastes his life so much. And you know, kind of protecting him, which is what they usually do. But then now I'm sending it to him in a way.

Okay. Cool. That makes sense. Yeah, your dad's probably yeah, he's probably you think he's grateful, uh, but he hasn't kind of been able to say that because he seems like he's a bit concerned about the fact that he's laying things on your doorstep when really you should be a kid, but he doesn't know how to do something different. So there's that kind of like friction, but also uh building of the relationship that you would have probably not had from before. That makes sense. So there's something positive, I suppose, coming out of it, but you have to work on it. It's something that's kind of coming. Okay, thank you very much, Tane. Uh Pete, what about yourself? How is Anders dealing with everything?

Like I say, the main thing that affected him was the way he got thrown about physically. And in his simplistic way, like with seeing all other problems solved by gaining more money, he thinks this will be solved by him getting bigger and stronger.

So he's he's working on that, it's just keeping his head down. He's probably also joined in any of Johannes' money-making schemes that that are available.

Yeah, yeah. May maybe they managed to salvage a few bits of robot uh toy without chips in and uh trying to put facsimiles together to sell them. Because one of you kept a robot.

I'm trying to think of which one it was. Okay, cool. I'll I'll get you in a second then, Douglas. Okay, that makes sense. And I believe last last season your parents weren't really speaking because there was a lack of money coming into the household.

How is that resolved, or is that still ongoing, or is that uh got a little bit better for a while, but it's still ongoing, it's still hanging over the whole situation. And and of course I don't have my car anymore. No.

How is Johannes seen in things?

Yes, so I Johannes was kind of left in an interesting situation at the end of season one. One, he was not at the factory when everyone came to tidy up, but he was off dragging away one of the deadly robots. Yes, Mega Megaton Prime, but the big ones.

And a couple of things that we'll probably decide on what's going on was one, also, I don't think any of he was not actually personally affected by anything. Because none of his family was targeted or any of that sort of thing. The second thing was he had made a deal with some morally dubious characters who had asked him to carry out a task, which he succeeded in doing so. However, a certain person who may remain unnamed may have called the police and got those two people arrested. The question is, did anything ever come of that? Because technically we although Anthony got them arrested, I did carry out the the job. Did you want to explain what that was? So, so basically, if I remember there was the two one of them was called Anders, I remember that much. And then there was the woman who was in charge. I the two agents, yeah. Yes. They were said they were working for the energy. Richters, is it Richter's Energy? Yes, they were working for Rick's Energy. Well they said they were. Anthony feels differently about this, apparently. Uh Anthony and Susie. Yes.

But Susie got abducted by one of them or both of them.

Yes. But anyway, but they thought that the robots, we would have an easier time getting to this mainframe than they would. Because the robots would were less aggressive towards children, I think was the logic. That did not turn out to be correct, but so they had asked basically Johannes had made a deal saying, okay, we will take this computer virus thing to the mainframe, plug it in, and then he would they would pay us a bunch of money and maybe work with us later down the line. Uh however, as soon as that deal was done, they basically took two steps outside and instantly got arrested by the police. Yes. Because somebody called on a car phone and reported them to the police.

Who pretty much almost blew the deal entirely, except Susie remembered that it was the motel where she was kidnapped, and when we got to the motel and broke into it, we managed to find the virus. If we hadn't done that, we would have been completely screwed because then the robots would have just taken over. Ah, yes. So Anthony almost got everyone in the town like converted. Yes.

Okay. Well, I guess the other quick query that I have for all of you is that would you over the course of the summer had spent time together as a group? Or would you have done your own thing? Or you know, there is there was a there was definitely a split like from the age groups, as sort of like the two older kids and then the the the three sort of like younger, middle kind of like kids. Would you have like spent more time in the summer, or you kind of do you see this as a kind of like you only get together for mysteries, or do you actually spend time with each other as as time has progressed? Because of the, I guess, the the mystery that you've that you've now resolved previously, it's kind of brought you close together as a group.

Well, Anthony definitely goes to the hideout. Whether or not anyone else is there is you know, even if even if there's no one there, he just kind of very, you know, he's he's a sad creature. He just will hang out by himself and write in his little write in his little D ⁇ D book. Create campaigns and characters for games that no one will ever play with.

Okay, well, how about we uh we're just gonna go through a little bit of of a of something that each of your um kids are sort of like doing before we kind of go to sort of what you all do as a group, and I've got something to read out for you for that. Okay, so I guess I'm gonna go to Tony. Tony, give me a sort of like a little vignette of something that happens to your kid. Day to day stuff, you know. It's sort of like towards the end of summer. Give me something that that that your kid has got up to or interacted with one of your relationships. Just a little short something.

Probably my day starts just cleaning up the house, you know, cleaning up the mess, so that my dad probably leaves every single night when he comes back home. I don't remember, I think he was a janitor in the loop. I guess he's a janitor. I think that's why he got also this. So my guess that he probably cleans at night. That's why I can do whatever I want, usually at night. But when he gets back, he probably just gets wasted and falls asleep in front of the TV in the big sofa. So basically the first thing I do when I wake up is just basically cover him with a blanket, clean, clean up whatever it is, because I leave him some food. And then probably I will just, you know, go to my room, listen to some music, and then at some point I will go to the hideout, you know, probably after having lunch or something like this. Cool. And then, you know, play music and you know, see what these guys are doing. Yeah, although I'm not very tinkery or anything like that. I'm more like, you know, listen to music. So I probably will be because I if I remember there were like two floors.

And just sitting there and chatting with whoever comes by and that's how I'm spending my summer, just basically wasting away. That's I mean, I mean, that's you know, we're kids.

As kids, it's a good way of like wasting your time, right? Okay, well, on I'm I'm gonna say that you've all kind of agreed that you were gonna spend the afternoon going to like there's a there's a there's a beach just on the just on the side of Stenhamra, where you're gonna go and hang out and chill out, you know, in the in the afternoon. So that's what you've done in the morning before you've gone to the hideout where you're all gonna meet. Pete, what are you gonna do? Or I'm obviously if you and Douglas wanna jump in to tell me what kind of crazy scheme you're picking up in that morning, if that's something you plan to do.

Oh yes, sorry, no, it's uh no the tiny one I think was the one Anthony had. Yes, yes, that one's the one. So you know you're right, sorry, I misremembered. Yeah, so it's the big one that seemed to have like that that was that was built. Yes, that one you're correct. It is it is not it is not working, but you're trying to kind of get it to work. Yeah, it it's a large, sort of like futuristic cannon. It looks like a large cannon on a on a truck kind of thing. That's what it that that's what the the Megaton Prime is. It's a Megatron, come on. Can we get sued? You can't say that. We're gonna get sued. No. Um it's it's yes, it's it's it's it's Megaton Prime from uh you know, from Optimus Prime from Temu. That's what it is. If only that was a thing yet. So yes, it is the sort of large kind of like cannon gun thing. You've tried messing around with it. You can do one or two things. You you can continue, and I'm happy for you to do this through the rest of the season, to try and to get it to work, or you can use it for parts to kind of scavenge if you need to put something else together or whatever. It'll be up to you two to decide what you want to do with that. But but I guess, yeah, the you you would spent like the morning kind of going to the next problem that you need to look at or solve and figure out what you're gonna do. I suppose what? You know, think trying to fix it, but also then trying to come up with whatever let's get quick rich scheme that you can come up with at school. So for you two, how how serious are you about it? So you know, is it the I'm gonna see if I can buy it or or strong arm some like the equivalent of some trading cards and then sell them at a higher price to other people? Or are we kind of looking down the sort of like maybe we can kind of do some petty theft and try and sell that to the kids, etc. So what level are you guys gonna be at? Are you gonna be sort of at the sort of innocent kids sort of stage still, or are you kind of like starting to dip your toe into the sort of like murkier sort of criminal delinquency? Delinquency, yes.

I mean, yeah, that's that's that's cool. Okay, thank you. So Tony, Anthony, I should say. Quite like the idea of uh you having just come from a session at the counselors. What did you discuss at the counselors?

Oh, probably, you know, needing to let go of this fantasy that Joe is, you know that Joe is somehow I that I somehow met Joe through some portal and that he's being experimented on by evil scientists at the loop, and you know. So I probably got into an argument with the lady and yelled at her and stormed out.

Okay. Which has seen you then going to the hideout, yeah. The hideout to then go and spend time with your friends. Okay. I like that. Yeah, so you kind of like cycle through the joys of Stenhamra, uh, for anyone who it's a sort of like small, sort of like it's the biggest town on on the island. You're in this archipelago around the Millaran Islands, you go through the town, which is probably the biggest town on the island, and it consists mainly of sort of people's residential homes. There is a hotel or motel here, there is a couple of factories and farm. There's a lot of farming that happens here. You also have the two schools. There's a lower school and a higher school. You're kind of in sort of like the higher school, you're not sort of like little kids, but you're kind of going into sort of like a before you get to 16, which is when you move into sort of like the college. So you're not quite there yet. So you make your way through these lovely little like roads, they're well paved. There is in the center of town, there's a pizzeria, which you've you've all been to, which also has sort of like a bakery attached to it. Next to it is a a video store, and next to that is sort of like a launderette kind of thing. Here and there are like some other shops. There's sort of you know just around where you were last time. You've got the um the corner store where all your toys and stuff will be. Around the corner from that, there is a comic shop where you might want to get your comics, your books, and various other things. Then you've got the quarry, which is this old quarry, which has been used quite recently for a TV show about police officers who have kind of like tracking down some fugitive and they've kind of just finished filming. And see, there was a bit of during summer, there was a little bit of a hub, like you know, the quarry was kind of like corned off so that these latest stars have kind of like come in from this TV show. It's a kind of like a a knockoff of Cagney and Lacey, but not quite as high budget. Um and so that's the kind of like TV show that's been filmed there, but it's now they've all recently disappeared. It's a place where some kids like to hang out, it's relatively dangerous, which kind of adds the appeal. And then further on, up into the woods, you've kind of like made your way as you cycle down. If you remember, there's this large set of open fields between the houses, and then you've got the sort of like forest and the trees, which is where your hideout is, and you kind of cycle all the way through there. Again, it's a nice warm day, it's kind of like the beginning of September. The flowers are sort of like still around, they're blooming, they're you get the smell of like honeysuckle and jasmine, and it's kind of warm, and yeah, you kind of build up a bit of a sweat as you get back to the um the hideout, and everyone happens to be here because you're all meeting up to go off down to the beach, which is just about a 40 40-minute drive or sorry, 40-minute cycle, or sort of you know, an hour's walk through the woods, up past the edges of Stanham Road to the north, and just down to sort of like this large beach area, which a lot of people go and hang out and chill out and relax. On the other side of the um of the island, you can see the three large towers of the loop blinking uh away and sort of the sun. And you can hear sort of like the the crash of the water sort of like pushing up against the rocks and and the and the sand. You can see there are families here, they've all kind of come out, they're sort of enjoying themselves swimming. There's people sort of like in some canoes, and people who just brought those sort of like rubber, sort of like dinghies. So people are just having a nice time. There are some older kids sort of like further on up the beach, they're on a rock, they're not going like into the water, they're too cool for that sort of thing. They're just sort of like hanging around, drinking sort of drinks. A couple of them are smoking as well.

When you look up, you can see the cooling towers in the distance, which are sort of like over here.

Yeah. So you kind of look across, I think it's called the the Langfarman Strait, and you can kind of have a look on the other side of the island, and you can see the towns. There's you know there's a there there's no other real town on the other island. There's a couple of small, sort of like purpose-built towns to look after the people in the loop who are people staying over that kind of thing, but there's no actual proper town or sort of like community outside of that. So you can kind of look over that and see there. But you do. It's again, as I said, it's a very nice warm day. It's it's the kind of end-of-summer feeling, you know, where it's like it that the main heat of summer is gone, but you've still got that warmth, but it's kind of drawing to a close. You've got that inevitability that it will kind of eventually become autumn, then winter, and then it'll be dark all the time.

I I've not really seen that sort of look anywhere else. And there's one of those that kind of like adjusts sort of in the jetty. You can see like an older guy who is sitting there with his little kind of like wiry scrappy dog, and he's sort of like fishing over the side of the uh the side of the actual jetty. And it looks like he also has you you think maybe he might live locally, and he also rents out some of these little white canoes and and stuff. And so there's a couple of them just sort of like dangling and bobbing in the water. So you feel free if you want to come along. I mean, it doesn't cost much, it's like a couple of crona or whatever, and you can you can rent them for however long, you know. So yeah, you can do that. If you do that, uh his name is Jan. Jan Eric has his name. And you probably know of him because you've probably been here, you know, multiple times before. And he kind of like has a little sort of you know, next to his sort of like large fishing tackle box, you know, there's like a little kind of like box with sort of like little kroner and scents and stuff in that you can kind of like rent the canoe's arm and he kind of does that. You don't think it's anything official, it's just something he does. Yeah, yeah.

Yeah, Anthony jumps in the water. So anyone who's youannis, by the time you've kind of like got back to sort of like the sort of like the the the jetty or sort of yeah, you've kind of got the jetty. You realise that you guys haven't gone very far. I mean, you're like a couple of minutes, you know. If that, you can see the sort of like there's a splashing, there's people getting in and out of the of the various canoes, there's water going everywhere, the canoe's sort of like rocking backwards and forwards. Anthony's kind of like gone into the water, there's no bottom, so it's suddenly really, really deep. You're like, ah that kind of like, oh, oh, I've realized that you know it's not just like the shore. There's actually sort of like a good, you know, eight or ten metres below you. Yeah. You can't swim that way because you'll probably tire out. And so that's the kind of like thing that ensues. Is there any uh you're gonna try and well I mean Johanna's should look not at this this craziness that's happening in the water that's I guess your kids, right? So it feels like an epic battle of like wills and stuff. Any adults are looking at these kids having fun.
